This whole bill is trash. You can't just swap areas of the Greenbelt and say samey-samey. The Greenbelt is an extensive ecosystem that can't be protected in bits and pieces. This is NOT what you ran on. This is NOT what citizens want. This will NOT solve the housing crisis. Read more

Removing protections on Greenbelt lands to fatten the pockets of the Premier's developer buddies sounds like a sick joke from a bad parody movie. You should not under any circumstances make amendments to the Greenbelt Act to open up protected land to build housing. Read more

I urge you to not do this. There are much better ways to increase the stock of affordable housing. Building on Greenbelt protected land is entirely wrongheaded and creates the impression of a strategy initiated purely by cronyism. Please rethink the idea. Read more

I worked on the creation of the Greenbelt and the Greenbelt Act back in 2003. All of the land that was included in the Greenbelt was carefully considered and the inclusion was the result of consultation with farmers, scientists, developers and Ontarians. Read more

As a lifelong Progressive Conservative voter who grew up on a farm, I find this proposal very troubling. Conservatives have always been leaders in the area of conservation to protect our rural Ontario way of life: farming, fishing, hunting, etc. These are all at risk if we open up the greenbelt. Read more
