I cannot support the use of any current Green Belt land for housing. It is a backward step for the enviroment and ignores the need for farmland and watershed protection for future generations. Build houses on already designated land in cities throughout the province.

We are in a climate emergency and we cannot allow this government to sacrifice our environmental protections for development, when we know there are so many other alternatives to creating new homes. There are so many problems with this legislation:

This is an absolute travesty. I moved to Canada expecting that in this country and in Ontario that promises would be kept, democracy would prevail and science would be a driving factor in decision making. Stop this farce. Keep the green belt green. Think about our children and their future.

This is terrible. Just terrible, for bio-diversity, for the climate crisis, for the people of Ontario. Surley there are better wayss to provide decent housing for Ontarians.

I am appalled that the Province would take this route moving forward. This impacts many planning processes as well as impacting green spaces. My particular concern is that there has been no thought put into the need to meet the waste management requirements for the new developments.

The destruction of the Greenbelt for development under the guise of providing "affordable homes" to address the Conservative declaration of a "housing crisis" is not based on fact.
It is not sustainable. It is destructive of a valuable living environment which has impacts on the

This is a horrible idea. Marshlands are an important part of a balanced ecosystem and a bad place to develop. The additional costs to build there will be enormous.
The greenbelt is a key migratory pathway for many animals and birds.

I have a piece of property in the proposal area, specifically map 6 which is the land located in the City of Pickering south of Highway 407, west of Duffins Creek, and North of the CP Belleville rail line.
I SUPPORT the removal of this land from the Greenbelt.

I absolutely oppose selling off any greenbelt lands. Lining the pockets of developers and endangering farmland and wildlife is not the way to solve Ontario’s housing crisis. Leave the greenbelt intact.
Doug Ford lied. Last month he tabled a piece of legislation — Bill 23 — to eviscerate our pristine Greenbelt, breaking his promise to leave it alone.
This bill is an attack on the environment and democracy — all under the guise of expanding housing.
We are writing to request a redesignation of additional areas of land currently designated under the Greenbelt Plan. These lands are legally known as 80 Taunton Road East in Ajax (PINs 264050045 and 264050048).

Firstly, I would like to say that you are a liar, regardless whether there is a housing crisis. The housing crisis has been growing for years, this is not a new phenomenon. You cannot develop the greenbelt. Secondly, I would like to propose alternatives to your "plan".

STOP THE OVERDEVELOPMENT. PROTECT OUR LANDS AS YOU ARE ELECTED TO DO. THE ENVIRONMENT IS FRAGILE AND YOUR OVER ZEALOUS DESIRE TO ADD MORE HOUSES EVERYWHERE IS THE LARGEST THREAT TO ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE. DONT PRETEND TO BE SOME GREEN/FAIRNESS AGENCY.

No development of the green belt. Build elsewhere. I do not support Fords proposed housing plan that will sacrifice green belt spaces. Get back to the drawing board. Build smart, not sprawl and definitely not in the green belt.
