The Greenbelt was meant to be protected and I am deeply upset that Doug Ford is going against his promise to not touch it. This is poor public policy. People of all political persuasions are united in the protection of the Greenbelt. Listen to the people!

As if eliminating the Far North Act wasn't enough, now we are profiting the few and destroying important green space that was once protected. (Coincidence that much of the space being designated was recently purchased by major donators to the party in power?) Read more

Please keep our green belt as it is. Green space is limited in this country especially in urban areas. With changing climate we need all of the trees, plants and animals to keep the balance. I understand that there is a growing population but find space somewhere else. Build up not out.

Do not touch the last bit of healthy Greenland that surrounds us!!! Focus on the abandoned lots and old factories near the cities. This will not end the housing crisis. Affordable rentals for families around $1000 will be the answer! Not building more new houses with expensive mortgages. Read more

With housing costs rising, building more homes across the Greenbelt will impose more challengers for home buyers, as well as potential increase in carbon tax. Therefore, the government must provide financial benefits while protecting Ontario’s green lands.

Being a resident in Ontario, opening up the greenbelt for development is a wrong move. What needs to be done, is hold builders accountable . Many builders are never penalized for being late on contracts, or for never finishing projects. Right now there is labour shortage in the trades. Read more
