I am vehemently opposed to the planned changes to the previously protected lands of Ontario’s Greenbelt. The development that is proposed will not effectively solve housing challenges.

The green belt is in place to protect bio diversity and is not suitable land for housing development or highways. These areas are wetlands and would be at risk of flooding. We should be respecting this land not destroying it. Nobody asked for a new highway. Literally no one.
The Greenbelt is a very important swath of land within Southern Ontario. First of all, it is treaty land, and the indigenous peoples need to be consulted before anything else!

Everyone wonders why the wildlife is making its way into subdivisions. Well guess what, they wouldn't be there if you left their habitat alone!!

i am infuriated that the government is pretending that it's a zero sum game: green space or housing. this change to the green belt is not necessary, is done in bad faith, is suspiciously convenient for many developer donors to Ford's campaign, and it's a betrayal of all of Ontario's climate goals.
Don’t change the rules to the green belt until there has been a complete environmental audit and review. As well as financial review of those that could potentially profit from regulation changes to ensure any changes are from a perspective of accountability and sustainability..

This is beyond shameful. In fact, it seems criminal. Doug Ford has rewarded his wealthy developer friends and is sacrificing important green space. This needs to be investigated and Ford needs to stop pushing forward with these plans. Immediately.

The Greenbelt should remain the greenbelt. We need the plant and wildlife biodiversity, the ability to connect with the land and each other in nature, and not more concrete. The people of the province do not want this. There was a promise made not to touch the greenbelt.

I oppose the proposed amendments to the Greenbelt Plan. The Greenbelt Plan was made to protect farmlands and the wetlands in Ontario. It was applauded. I applauded it. The plan was the protection of 2.3 million acres of land.

This proposal to build in the green belt area is deplorable. I live in an area close to where some proposed development of the green belt is.

This idea sickens me. Where do I start? With the election lies? The lack of responsibility for both the constituents and this thing we can’t replace called “Earth”? This bill is the essence of greed and self interest. Will never vote conservatives.
