There are better ways to solve the housing issues we face in Ontario. By developing the farmland and watersheds of the greenbelt we are doing irreparable damage that will be felt by future generations. Do not develop this land. Find better solutions that benefit the environment and the future.

Please try and protect the green spaces, there are plenty of other opportunities for housing. Can we buy into already built office spaces to be converted into housing. Tons of closed down buildings. Lots of empty parking lots for ghost malls. Read more

Disappointed in the Ontario governments decision to mess with the Green Belt. The Indigenous community have a saying, do all things keeping in mind the next 7 generations. Doug Ford is not thinking about the future. We need this land kept undeveloped. Don't kill any part of the greenbelt. Read more

The integrity of the Greenbelt is paramount for its protection and the environmental security of Ontario. Fringe areas provide protection and buffer zones for core areas. The ability to visit nature is one of the key reasons by family chose to move to Ontario from Alberta. Read more

This Greenbelt land swap is a catastrophe. It completely undermines the reason we have the Greenbelt in the first place and ignores the government's findings that we have enough vacant or underused land to develop the housing that we need. Read more

I oppose the use of the Greenbelt for Urban Boundary expansion. I also oppose the mandate that Hamilton MUST expand its Urban Boundaries, this expansion will not solve housing, as these homes will be unaffordable to those who need housing most and we should be focusing on building up, not out.
