Mr.Ford promised during his campaign that he would not do this to the green belt. By reneging on this promise he is disgracing the vote I cast for him. How is he any better than our prime minister if he too is willing to lie on campaign to be elected and then change his tune once he is in office. Read more

Keep the green belt where it is. Focus on developing more transit option between Toronto and outlying communities. In addition focus on creating denser mixed use neighborhoods in the gta that are already close to existing transit infrastructure. A good example is pickering. Read more

The greenbelt needs to be firmly protected. The wetlands it contains, and the buffer zones around them are important for Ontario in the long term. It's an absolute shame that a premiere who was funded by builders who own those lands wants to erode protections for those important areas. Read more

I believe that the solution to lack of housing should be denser housing and building of walkable communities, not suburban sprawl that will chew up valuable biodiverse land. Protecting the Greenbelt and the life it supports is more important than making a quick buck for housing developers.
