Do not shrink the Greenbelt by destroying it with housing development. People want more nature for mental health. People don't want to spend over an hour commuting and adding to the carbon footprint. Maybe work on infrastructure before demolishing land. Read more

Seriously?! When we’’re on the brink of climate disaster and need our green spaces more than ever, Doug Ford thinks selling off the Greenbelt to his developer friends is a good idea?! The current people of Ontario do not want this, and future generations certainly won’t thank us for it. Read more

I think it is absolutely abhorrent that the provincial government wants yo pave tbrough the greenbelt for an unnecessary highway. This is what is ruining the environment; greed and pride. Do not let this happen. We will just be exacerbating an already global emergency. Read more

I am absolutely opposed to altering the Green Belt in any way except making it bigger for a number of reasons, including: 1. We need MORE not less green space in southern Ontario for improved environmental and human health and to help mitigate the effects of climate change. Read more

No. Build up, not out. High-rise and midrise apartments (instead of large houses) provide density to support public transit and decrease reliance on cars, and are energetically more efficient to heat and cool. They are also more likely to be affordable.

There is to be Absolutely NO expansion of the green belt under any circumstance. Mr. Ford: What happened to “promises made, promises kept”??? You promised not to build there. Increased immigration does not equal free reign to build on the green belt. Read more

DO NOT CHANGE THIS. THE GREEN BELT IS CRUCIAL PIECE OF FORESTATION IN THE CITY. We should not be making these changes. Specially with climate change being such a world wide issue today. If you need developments, build them where there is not a large lane of green space we should be protecting

Shame on Doug Ford and his crooked government for trying to sneak this through during a strike he caused. I am so embarrassed that I voted for him twice. People warned me, and I defended him. I will not make that mistake again. Read more

This cannot happen and I am 100% against this proposal. We need to protect the greenbelt not just for nature and climate change reasons, but to prevent flooding into Toronto and causing even greater ecological and climate problems. Read more

Please do not remove any land from the greenbelt, even if more is added elsewhere. Housing goals can be met with increased density in areas that are already developed. This increased density will allow for improved public transportation systems to be more viable, and reduce our reliance on cars.

The green belt and oak ridges moraine lands were protected for a reason. If any government can come along and amend the boundaries to build more houses, then what was the point? The infrastructure is already not in place for the existing number of houses. Read more

The green belt was designated for a reason. To preserve the environment for future generations. I am a resident of Ontario and I strongly oppose any release of any acres from the green belt for development. Ontario is a large province with lots of land. Read more
