Bulletin summary

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) is extending the 2004 Shebandowan Lake Management Plan, by three (3) years. The new expiration date for this plan will be July 1, 2027.

Why consultation isn't required

The MNRF is sharing notification of this plan’s extension to ensure the public is aware that the direction in the Lake management Plan (LMP) continues to apply during the period of plan evaluation. The current plan has been in place for 20 years. No change to the existing direction within the plan is occurring as part of the extension.

The evaluation of the LMP and restricted area order will include consultation with all affected stakeholders, and area Indigenous Communities. Any future proposed changes will be subject to a separate Environmental Registry posting (and Regulatory Registry posting) which includes 45-day public comment period

Bulletin details

This extension is needed to ensure that the provisions of the existing Lake Management Plan and its related Restricted Area Order continue to be in place while an evaluation of the current plan occurs, and a path forward is determined.
