I totally agree with the Ontario Energy Board (OEB), that the developers should pay for new pipelines to new homes rather than having citizens subsidizing a corporation. Read more

Thank you for considering my comments on Bill 165 and for adding them to the Registry. The role of the Ontario Energy Board is to make decisions that are in the best interest of Ontarians, and the OEB’s December 2023 decision to stop subsidies for new natural gas hookups did just that. Read more

The OEB need the authority to makes decisions for the betterment of ALL ONTARIANS. No Premier or party in power should have the ability to override decisions made by the OEB! The OEB acts for all people in Ontario and Doug Ford acts for his rich supporters like Enbridge.

I am not in support of the Ford government to overrule the decisions of the OEB. It has an extremely important role in government accountability and ensuring oversight in decisions about Ontario’s energy. This proposal overrides that. I want the government to stop this undemocratic amendment. Read more

OBE is working for and with the people of Ontario. Why Mr. Ford aren't you. Why do constantly ignore and override what the general public wants in favour of big business? You sir were voted in to serve the public not LNG! How can you always be on the wrong side of environmental issues? Read more

With all due respect; this Ontario government under the direction of Premier Ford has proven to be suspect in deals that benefit developers over citizens. Read more

I support the OEB in that the new homeowner must bear the cost of building new homes. We are in a climate crisis, and inflation is already causing undue burden on all people. Read more

The government of Ontario should not be forcing natural gas customers to pay for the infrastructure for new homes. There are cheaper heating options that are also better for the environment. Read more

We do not need to subsidize the expansion and profits of Enbridge! This proposal will result in a prolonged dependency on natural gas, a damaging fossil fuel. This proposal is not in the best interests of Ontario citizens.

Regulatory decisions should be left to the regulator, which has the time, energy, specialized knowledge and resources to make the best decisions. Bill 165 is the worst sort of partisan political interference in what should be left outside of partisan politics. Read more

When our premier expresses sympathy for “ hard working Ontarians” why is he off loading the cost of building new pipeline infrastructure onto us. Enbridge, a large and wealthy corporation can better pay their own bills than having “hard working Ontarians” pay for them.

Please do not pass the proposed amendments to the Ontario Energy Board Act. As an Enbridge customer, making me pay for the costs of Enbridge's planned future infrastructure will cost me approximately $120 a year (according to figures provided by Ontario Energy Board and Environmental Defence).
