Nartech Metal Products Ltd. - Environmental Compliance Approval (air)

This proposal is for an amendment to Environmental Compliance Approval No. 2042-C4FL9S with Limited Operational Flexibility (air) for Nartech Metal Products Ltd. Plant 2 (Nartech), producing automotive parts located in the City of Windsor, Ontario.

The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that discharge to the air include:

• welding
• plasma cutting
• ancillary operations (grinding) and sources of combustion

The amendment includes a self-contamination assessment, the addition of one welding exhaust, the addition of two welding exhausts, removal of the powder coating booth, an updated facility air dispersion modelling using AERMOD version 22112, and ASHRAE 2019 method of calculation for self-contamination.

Emissions to the atmosphere from this facility include:

• suspended particulate matter
• iron
• iron (ferric) oxide
• manganese, and
• nitrogen oxides

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air). The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
