I can appreciate the need for housing but we are throwing away all standard towards building a sustainable city and community. These proposed changes do not take into account any requirements for soft landscaping and trees - let alone existing mature trees. Read more

Sounds like permission to build on and pave over green spaces, to cut down trees, increase pollution, eliminate cooling effect of trees (eg;shade) , more floods, and more UNaffordable homes built by investors.

The proposed amendments regulating Garden Suites and Secondary Suites are a very poor idea. Something that was supposed to provide a little extra accommodation for family or to allow a rental unit to be created is now opening the door to an extra house being built in one's backyard. Read more

This policy does not affect affordability, developers will make more profit on expensive home, and livability in the area will be very difficult. I am living in Long Branch in the middle of construction, dirt and noise going on for years now. Read more

I do not support the proposed amendments to the Regulation of Garden Suites and Secondary Suites. I oppose all 5 proposed changes. Mainly because soft landscaping and trees are not, but need to be taken seriously and into consideration for climate changes. J. Dehart Long Branch resident

I oppose the proposal by the Province of Ontario will override all Floor Space Index zoning requirements in zoning bylaws if the property will have a basement suite, secondary suite or Garden Suite on the property. No limit to the size of buildings on the lot. Read more

The proposed changes are DETRIMENTAL to affordable housing. Especially the proposed change to override FSI requirements. We have seen, lived and experienced the dramatic escalation in housing prices when modest decent starter homes are demolished for monster homes. Who benefits?? Read more
