Hi, I'm a research scientist at a biotech startup located on University avenue and I use the University bike lanes daily during my commute. The bike lanes allow me to commute faster and safer in an eco-friendly fashion. Read more

One of the stupidest things this pathetic excuse for a leader has proposed. Reversing course on advancing the ability for a growing population to move around the city without requiring more cars is a disgusting act of ignorance. Read more

New bike lanes should absolutely stay where they are, at least for several years to have reliable usage data. I have recently started to bike to commute, because bike lanes make me feel it is safe enough to bike during busy morning hours. Read more

"We have to do everything we can to make sure there’s never a death in the city. One death is way too many when it comes to bicycle riders. We have to make sure that they’re safe."  Read more

I disagree with this entirely. The bike lanes reduce accidents and provide an alternative mode of travel for residents. This is clearly an attempt to garner support from the suburbs. Toronto residents want to keep these lanes. Read more

Why is the provincial government enforcing the removal of infrastructure that they did not pay for . In addition, why are we removing these bike lanes when it is clearly reducing congestion? Read more

I love what you are planning to do. The people in opposition don't bike, or will continue biking regardless of the bike lane situation. We need more space for cars, especially in the winter.

This bill goes against all facts and science on solving congestion. The only proven way to reduce traffic congestion is viable alternatives to driving, and effective bike lanes are part of that solution. Removing bike lanes and encourage more people to drive will make congestions much worse. Read more

Removing bike lanes would be a criminal waste if tax payers money. The bike lanes on Bloor make travel by car much safer and the Amnex Business Association says they’re good for business. Read more

As someone who uses bike lanes daily, and whose family member was KILLED by using shared roads while cycling, it is abysmal to think of the amount of taxpayer money, construction and absolute mess you will create by undoing this work and risking the lives of millions of Torontonians who rely on bike Read more

Removing bike lanes does not reduce congestion nor solve gridlock. Separated bike lanes ensures safety and predictability of ALL road users. They also stimulate economic activity for local businesses and another option to move throughout the city. Read more

listen to actual evidence that shows bike lanes do not add to congestion and in fact are a great alternative to get roads off the road Please listen to reason and logic. We don't need regressive policies that will make things worse for everyone. Read more

The idea that stepping into city turf to remove built infrastructure is remotely helpful in dealing with traffic is ridiculous. Bloor Street is very obviously not a highway. Its main purpose is not to shuttle traffic to and from the suburbs. Read more

Dear God don't remove the bike lanes! I live very close to Yonge street and what we need is fewer vehicles and more protection for cyclists! If you add another lane, more people are going to drive and return everyone to the same gridlock they are currently in. Read more

This is so dumb and won't alleviate traffic. In fact it'll probably kill a handful of people if enacted, not that this government gives a crap. I'm sick and tired of provincial and federal governments doing nothing ambitious and substantive to tackle traffic and climate issues. Read more
