We use the Bloor street bike lanes every day, to safely get around the city with our 3 year old daughter. When she is old enough, she will need these bike lanes to get around the city safely on her own. Read more

The Ford government’s attempt to override municipal-level planning and infrastructure planning concerning bike lanes is shameful, and should not be tolerated by the people of Ontario. Read more

Removing bike lanes would be a huge mistake. It makes traffic a lot safer for all road users + it helps promote biking as a sustainable transportation option in town.

I oppose Bill 212. The bike lanes on Bloor St., Yonge St., and University Ave are essential biking infrastructure in Toronto. A health biking infrastructure is important for the growing city. It reduces the dependency on car and mass transit. Read more

I am in complete favour of taking out the bike lanes on Bloor st. I hope this includes Bloor west up to Islington. The one-lane has been a complete disaster for traffic and has increased my travel time by 10 minutes at least. Read more

This law will add an unnecessary hurdle for Ontario's municipalities to craft transportation solutions that work for them. As someone who has commuted by car, public transit, and bicycle Downtown cores are exactly where lanes dedicated to bikes and other small/personal transportation are needed. Read more

Bike lanes are important because not everyone in Toronto owns or drives a car. It is a sign of good infrastructure if there are multiple modes of transportation available to the citizens of a city, and bike lanes are an important part of the transportation available in Toronto

I absolutely disagree with the removal of bike lanes on the major streets in Toronto. As a pedestrian who frequently walks those routes and a as someone who also frequently drives along those corridors I feel incredibly safe having those bike lakes. Read more

I'm been living in the city of Toronto for the most of my life so far. Biking around city has been something that I enjoy to do when the weather is warm. However I can't ignore the fact that grid lock has worsened significantly in downtown core, with the lane reducing due to addition of bike lanes. Read more

I think this is absolutely appalling to remove bike lanes. This city should be improving infrastructure that help public transit and biking vs adding extra cars which will just cause traffic congestion, pollution and make the many pedestrians in the city more at risk.

I agree that driving in this city has become awful. This is the reason I plan to sell my SUV this month and bike daily. Since side streets don't follow a straight path I will probably just bike on the road. No joke. Read more

It is absolutely insane to burn the money spent and go backwards. Bikers will be on the road. You can either have them mixed with traffic or keep the road you already have. Insanity. Don’t do this. It makes no sense.

Bill 212 is short term thinking at its finest. We do not have enough road capacity for everyone to drive everywhere, all the time. Building out and expanding networks for alternative forms of transportation benefits drivers in the long run by getting other people out of their cars. Read more
