In the interests of reducing gridlock in the City of Toronto, decisions on the introduction and removal of bike lanes should be left to the City itself. Funding should be increased to the City so it can better plan and phase in these changes. Read more

I’m very disappointed with my government. Bike lanes actually simplify commutes. Without them bikes would just be taking up entire driving lanes. They also encourage people to be more environmentally friendly and keep everyone safer. Read more

Please do not add more red tape and bureaucracy to local infrastructure. Cyclists need bike lanes for their safety and motorists need bike lanes to keep cyclists out of lanes for cars.

The province is overstepping with this legislation, local infrastructure is best designed and decided by the local municipalities. It has been shown again and again that the only way to reduce congestion and improve driving is viable alternatives to driving. Read more

Utter insanity to remove existing bike lanes. I don't even have a bicycle and love the Bloor bike lanes. Having a single lane of traffic prevents aggressive drivers from switching lanes constantly. Not to mention protecting the actual vulnerable road users (cyclists). Read more

This bill will increase red tape. I use bike lanes everyday and consider then essential Bike lanes provide safety for all road users. Bike lanes support transit by making it easier to get to stations.

This is a massive waste of taxpayer dollars that could be better spent building new transit around the city to facilitate easier commuting around the downtown. There is no actual solution to traffic that doesn't include viable alternatives to driving. Read more

The province has no role in overstepping municipal jurisdiction. This is an anti-democratic and harmful policy choice that is not based on evidence but purely on politics. Removing bike lanes from these major roads will increase cycling deaths and is very unsafe. Read more

Please do not do this. Please do not remove these bike lanes on Bloor, Yonge and University. Doing so will put my safety at risk, and also that of my family, friends, colleagues and community. Read more

This seems like poor urban planning and I am very skeptical that this will resolve our congestion problems. Major international cities like London and Paris have excellent public transit and bike lanes. Read more

This Bill is doing nothing of value - countless metrics have proven that removing bike lanes leads to more traffic, and it is incredibly short-sighted to do so. Also, removing environmental screening for construction of the highway will only lead to more destruction. Read more

I am a resident of Toronto and a driver with a car and also a cyclist. Cycling is the fastest way to get around in the city and bike lanes - especially separated lanes - are very important to me. Read more

Removing bike lanes around hospitals and increasing the number of car lanes will certainly lead to more emissions around the hospitals, as well as more pedestrian accidents.

This bill, proposing the removal of many kilometres of existing bike lanes, as well as adding red tape/bureaucracy to the implementation of new cycling infrastructure is a proven deficit to the safety of human life. Read more
