I do NOT support this proposal. Easing traffic congestion is about giving people more transportation options, not fewer. Removing the bike lanes means bikes will take up more room on the car lanes, leading to more congestion. Read more

A spectacular waste of taxpayer's money given the amount already spent on bike lanes to date and the complete lack of evidence that removal of the lane will improve gridlock. This will also create extra red tape - ironic from a goverment that claims to want to reduce it. Read more

This proposal looks to be a waste of both time and money, as well as a massive overreach by the province. Local governments understand their own traffic needs and should be trusted to make these decisions without provincial interference. Read more

This is a ridiculous overreach of government powers. We should have less big government involvement not more. I'm shocked and saddened that the Conservatives would want to have so much control over city affairs. Bike and transit should be encouraged not discouraged.

As one of the many, many people using the safe separated bike lanes on Bloor, University and Yonge, I am astonished that the government is proposing to remove these. Do not do this.

We don’t need to reduce bike lanes to reduce gridlock. What we need instead is to invest in better public transportation. Move the buses into a separate lane, make more stops for the train and why the hell is the streetcar sharing the street with cars. Just look to cites in Europe. Read more

This whole proposal is absurd. There a many, more modern, cities than Toronto that have not only embraced bike lanes because they care more about valuing human lives than commute times--but also they value smart design over lazy management. Read more

Often it's impossible to add a bike lane without removing a car lane. This bill would block almost all the bike lanes I use regularly. I would be deeply saddened if this passed. Read more

This bill is antithetical to evidence-based planning principles, and is in violation of the Ministry's own stated principles around prioritizing road safety and reducing emissions. I implore the Minister to withdraw the bill.

This bill will result in deaths due to a lack of safe cycling infrastructure in our supposed "world-class" city. We need LESS red tape preventing our city from improving cycling infrastructure, the opposite of what this bill will do. Read more

I implore you to leave the city bike lanes alone and DO NOT remove them. Everything this government touches goes to crap so you'd better keep your hands off them. Stay in your lane, Ford! That's Etobicoke or where you are now.
