Oppose bill 212, let’s move forward not backwards! This is Canada 🇨🇦 we need safe bike lanes for locals, good ride share, mobility scooters, life in the city is not just cars! Let’s learn from European cities like Zagreb, bikes & cars in unison, Venice, Denmark & Amsterdam!

This is a terrible way forward for traffic as this will greatly increase time stuck in traffic. Many studies have shown this clearly and obviously. It hurts cyclists. It hurts motorists. It hurts everyone. Do not proceed.

DO NOT REMOVE BIKE LANES!! It’s how people who can’t afford a car or don’t feel safe on the TTC get to work and get home. It’s part of our livelihood as a commuter. Cyclists already have to fight for our space in the bike lane when there isn’t a barricade to prevent cars from intercepting.

Bike lanes offer people a way to get places without polluting the environment, but also are the safest way to get places when biking. Why do you want to mess with that? It seems overly expensive too.

1) we need to build for where we are going - not where we were several decades ago. 2) there will be tens of thousands of new residents in our city who will need to get around - they can't all drive cars. Read more

Imagine driving if roads were independent segments that ended before you could get to work or to the pharmacy. That’s the biggest challenge to Ontarians who bike or wish to lead healthier, active lifestyles by biking to more places. Read more

I am a resident in downtown Toronto, on Spadina Avenue, very near to several of the bike lanes which this proposal seeks to remove. In downtown Toronto, there are an enormous number of food delivery workers who ride E-bikes at high speeds through the city. Read more

The government's publicly stated goal of removing certain bike lanes in downtown Toronto will, if achieved, negatively affect the health and wellbeing of myself and my young family. We live nearby and regularly travel along Danforth avenue by car, by bicycle, on foot, and by transit. Read more

Cyclists in regular car lanes would not only be dangerous for the cyclists’ safety but also disturbing for car drivers and slow down traffic further. Province should stay away from City jurisdiction and focus on trying to fix healthcare and the economy.

As a downtown resident without a car, protected bike lanes offer up an alternate safe, effective mode of transport for me via bike share. It is clear that business and public services alike benefit from bike lanes and that ripping out bike lanes is both unnecessary, expensive and ill-advised.
