We absolutely need bikelanes. I am a cyclist in the city and I have been victim of drivers negligence & verbal harassment. There has to be movement towards eco friendly transit. We are living in a critical era for the environment and choosing to go backwards is a deliberate irresponsible choice.

Research has shown that removing a bike lane will only provide temporary relief to downtown automobile congestion; however, it will have a lasting impact on the safety of our bikers. Please reconsider this decision.

Bike lanes save lives. Cars are what cause congestion. If the government was serious about reducing congestion, they would be looking to (and funding) more bike lanes, in addition to other transportation alternatives to get people out of cars.

As a City Planner (not with Toronto) and an expert in Urban Transportation, I strongly disagree with this Bill for the following reasons: - Bike lanes have had a negligible effect on vehicle travel times, if any effect at all Read more

Ontario as a whole has not done enough to protect bikers. Bike lanes provide alternate modes of transportation for a diverse province such as Ontario. More cyclists mean fewer cars on the road, which can lead to less congestion. Read more

What the heck is wrong with this government? Removing and restricting implementation of bike lanes? Appropriating land for bulky roads? Haven't you read this statement by PEO? More bike lanes are better for everybody, including drivers. Read more

Bike lanes are an important aspect of our local streets, lessening the number of cars and making cycling safer. The city of Toronto has carefully considered this issue and made its decision. That should be respected, not overridden by the provincial government.

I am in agreement that the Province take a closer look at the bike lane situation. I support including bike lanes in our city, however not at the cost of safety for the cyclist, the pedestrian AND the driver. Read more

If the goal of this bill is to reduce congestion, it is 100% wrong-headed. Congestion is not caused by people on bikes - whether they're in protected bike lanes or sharing lanes with cars. Congestion is caused by cars on the road. Read more

Removing bike lanes in Toronto makes no sense. Listen to the experts that have clearly testified at committee and leave them in for the clear benefits they have for efficiency, safety, choice, and support for local businesses. Read more
