If my bike route does not have bike-only lanes, and the existing lanes removed, I will have to bike on the street within traffic. This will congest traffic and become dangerous as higher speeds.

I ride a bike. My kids ride bikes. My wife rides a bike. We don’t own a car. We love to bike. We use bike lanes so that we can stay away from cars and not bother them, and we can be safe. My kids are 11 and 15 years old. Read more

Thank you for common sense legislation. The city has been hijacked by a small bike lobby. Every meeting and forum I have attended is overwhelming against the bike lanes and yet a tone deaf city council persists. Read more

Hello, I would like to voice my support for going against the provincial governments request to remove the bike lanes. I think it is a huge waste of money and it has been proven time and time again that adding bike lines to the city actually helps reduce congestion. Read more

As usual, Ford's head is turned 180 degrees on his body and all he can do is see backwards. He hasn't got a clue about the path forward in a world that is finally starting to wake up to the disasters that are imminent due to global warming, and vehicular traffic is very much a part of the problem. I am opposed to this bill. There are numerous studies that prove that bike lanes reduce traffic by removing cars from the roads. Additionally, for a government with a "minister of red tape reduction," this bill will increase "red tape" for any municipality that wishes to add a bike lane. Read more

Inevitably, the solution to gridlock is to reduce the number of cars on the road. Bill 212 will have the opposite effect. By discouraging the use of bicycles, we are going in the absolute wrong direction.

I am strongly opposed to Bill 212. Bike lanes both help to improve the carbon footprint of our city and province, but also provide necessary safety and access for the millions of people who use them. Read more

Please abandon this proposed legislation. It will not improve gridlock in Toronto for people in cars. And it will risk the lives of people who are actually easing congestion by getting around without a car, including many people I care about and myself. It's a bad policy. Please scrap it.

Hi highly oppose this bill. Bike lanes are integral to a safe street for pedestrians cyclists and drivers, with no bike lanes cyclists will have to bike on the road which will make it more dangerous for them and the drivers. Read more

Doug Ford's Bill 212, targeting bike lanes that occupy a lane of traffic, fundamentally misdiagnoses the cause of gridlock: an overwhelming number of cars. Research shows bike lanes don’t create traffic; they reduce it by encouraging cycling as a viable alternative to driving. Read more

It is extremely short-sighted to spend money removing bike lanes; the government should ENCOURAGE biking, walking & transit use by as many people as possible. THAT is what will help the environment & decrease congestion. Read more
