Bill 212 is overbroad, and reactive policy that risks serious harm to the environment, the rights of property owners facing expropriation, and the safety of cyclists. Read more

Dear Premier Ford, I would like to express my dismay about Bill 212. This widely unpopular proposed legislation would be an extreme overreach into municipal jurisdiction. It goes against science, which overwhelmingly shows bike lines in fact reduce traffic, not cause it (1,2). Read more

Remove the bicycle lanes on Bloor and Yonge and University. They are mostly unused, create congestion, and they are actually dangerous to cyclists. They will never be used in the winter. Put bicycle lanes in sensibly. They should go on secondary routes.

I approve of the removal of the bike lanes. No referendum was taken in their implementation. They have caused difficulties, financial hardship and massive, unnecessary inconvenience. Emergency Services are delayed. Seniors cannot get around as much or as easily. Driver frustration is huge. Read more

This bill will be a disaster if it goes through. The city wont be the same. We’ll still have cyclists like me but they’ll have to ride unsafely. I’ve been hit by a car before and I don’t want to experience that ever again. This is a giant step back, please do not do this.

I commute 100% by bicycle year round. Without bike lanes, I’m at significantly increased risk of injury or death due to cars. My health and safety is being politicized; bike lanes must remain intact and continue to develop for the good of all Torontonians.

The update to Bill 212 that would see the province weighing in on the creation of proposed bike lanes and the insistence on the removal of existing bike lanes in municipalities throughout Ontario is irresponsible and damaging to public safety, traffic management, environment and health outcomes, and Read more
