This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage) for the establishment of sewage works for the collection, transmission, treatment and reuse of wash water from a closed-loop aggregate washing operation at the Marshall Pit, located in the Township of Laurier, District of Parry Sound, Ontario.
The system includes two ponds. Water is taken from the wash pond to be used to wash aggregate in the wash plant. Runoff from the wash plant is directed to the silt pond, where the fine particles (silt and clay) settle from the water. The silt-free water is then circulated back to the wash pond in a closed loop, with no off-site surface water discharge occurring as part of the wash plant operations.
