I oppose the changes to the protection of endangered species and habitat protection. It is important to maintain the high standards of protection. The proposed changes will allow irreversible damage to be done.

We need to be stewards of the land, and take great considerations for the impacts of our actions on the ecosystem. The proposed changes will be abused, causing unfathomable damage to nature, and souring relations with indigenous communities.

This is not only a horrible idea but also a disgrace to Ontario. We pride ourselves off of our beautiful environment and wildlife. Ontario has deep roots connecting to our environment and if Doug Ford gets his way then this province will crumble. Read more

This is wildly unacceptable, irresponsible, and only furthers the narrative that this government is corrupt and serves only the interest of its inner circle and not the province of Ontario.

This act is irresponsible and dangerous for animals, communities, and indigenous peoples. Not only will you be destroying homes and habitats, this will bring lawsuits and extensive legal battles that will cost taxpayers significant amounts of money while only profiting few rich land developers.

If you pass this bill, think about how much every child and grandchild and their grandchildren deserve to hate you for your short sighted greed, anti intellectualism and willful ignorance. Read more

This is a bad idea. What is the logic behind such a bad idea? How much does it cost us to vaguely protect wildlife, that we have to do this? We need to do better, and this is not it. I am against this proposal, Read more

Development should not come at the expense of our environment. This government continues to take short cuts that the future generations will pay for. This is the only planet we have. Learn from the mistakes of the Greenbelt scandal and withdraw this legislation. Read more

This is ridiculous. We must continue to protect our environment and species at risk. This is incredibly greedy and stupid. It is also incredibly ridiculous and disrespectful to not consult the relevant indigenous communities whom these decisions may be relevant to.

I oppose this bill. Protections for certain species and environments are in place for a reason; rather than fast-tracking development and irrevocably damaging our environment, we should update our laws with both development and sustainability in mind.

I am deeply concerned about the dismantling of Ontario’s Endangered Species Act. Gutting protections for our most vulnerable wildlife is a short-sighted and irresponsible decision that prioritizes development over biodiversity, ecological health, and future generations. Read more
