Ontario is a beautiful place but if we continue to let Doug ford and his construction buddies run rampant we will destroy that. We should be doing everything we have to preserve the biodiversity and endangered species we have. Read more

All the government cares about is building new infrastructures that can only be properly utilized to those privileged enough to access it instead of protecting it's natural resources and environment. Read more

I am extremely concerned by the replacement of the Endangered Species Act. Politicians and bureaucrats should not replace scientists in deciding which plants and animals should be protected. This bill also abolishes obligations for the government to create recovery strategies and report on them. Read more

As climate change and political policies have already negatively impacted our province's natural spaces so heavily, the importance of preserving them is only increasing. Let's think outside of ourselves, and help preserve the wildlife that needs it most and keeps Ontario diverse. Preserve the birds!

Ontario has protected endangered species and their habitat since 2008. Before the enactment of the ESA (2007), only a certain list of species was protected from harm, and there was no habitat protection. Read more

Fast-tracking land development without indigenous consultation and environmental assessments is irresponsible and is not the way of our future. Much of Ontario is still rich in natural habitat, habitat which requires protection for every Ontarian’s wellbeing. Read more

As this government has professed many times over the last few months, Canada is not for sale! This should be applicable everywhere. We cannot allow such an egregious bill to pass, that tramples over Indigenous sovereignty and environmental protections. Read more

I reject this attempt at prioritizing mass industry over the real needs for Ontarian civilians. Our government should be focusing on: Public, accessible, sustainable health care policy Read more

This Bill takes does not take into regard our actual province but only the one in which you want to see in your pockets. Let's focus on bringing more to Ontario for Ontarians and others through it's plentiful biodiversity and not its concrete opportunity.

I strongly oppose Bill 5. It will heavily damage the environment and our local communities, which is harmful to our country and people. I oppose shortcuts for industry, especially at the cost of our well-being and rights. Read more

This is one hundred percent the wrong approach we need to be taking and I strongly oppose it going forward. It should be difficult to move forward with any kind of development when it might affect both endangered species and the current ecosystem. Read more

No longer protecting wildlife from "harassment" is an oversight. Wildlife experience stress differently than humans. When you are constantly living in survival mode energy consumption is key. Read more

This proposal would be a disastrous step backward for conservation in Ontario. The proposed changes to the definition of "habitat" leaves out almost all of the critical areas for the survival of species at risk, including areas where they feed, mate, and migrate. Read more

I oppose Bill 5. I want Ontario to maintain or even strengthen environmental regulations. Bill 5 would give too much unchecked power and decision making to the government, it is just not necessary.
