The changes to the site plan for ARA Licence No. 3450 were approved by the Director on January 16,2026
The approval allows Dufferin Aggregates, A Division of CRH Canada Group Inc. to amend the current site plan to update the maximum predicted water table for the site, lowering the maximum depth of extraction from 325 masl to 311masl, and make changes to the operational plan and final rehabilitation plan to more closely integrate operations with Licence #15592. The amendment also authorizes the removal of the 15m eastern licence boundary setback, shared with Licence #15592 and modify the rehabilitation plan to create an integrated final rehabilitation across Licence #3450 and #15592 in the Municipality of Clarington.

Application has been made by Dufferin Aggregates, a Division of CRH Canada Group Inc. to amend the current site plan to update the maximum predicted water table for the site, lower the maximum depth of extraction from 325 masl to 311 masl, and make changes to the operational plan and final rehabilitation plan to more closely integrate operations with Licence #15592. The proposed request for this licence is being circulated within the Ministry of Natural Resources. Additionally, notification of this application has been forwarded to the Municipality of Clarington, Durham Region, and landowners within 120 metres of the licence boundary, for comment.

In total, 112.5 hectares are currently licensed as a pit. This amendment seeks to more closely integrate operations between the two sites, each with its own site plan.
