This proposal is for the renewal of the Limited Operational Flexibility for an Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 2804-9X5PHD for Soprema Inc., a roofing panel fabrication facility located in the County of Brant, Ontario.
The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that discharge to the air include asphalt coating, asphalt storage tanks, laminating process, butyl membrane production line, cutting, trimming, grooving operations, heat shrink line, maintenance welding, comfort heaters, HVAC units, silos, and dust collection systems.
Emissions to the air from this facility include:
- asphalt fumes
- benzene
- nitrogen oxides
- particulate matter
- precipitated calcium carbonate/ground calcium carbonate
- quartz
- noise
The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise). The Limited Operational Flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
