This proposal is for a renewal and amendment to the Limited Operational Flexibility for an Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 7723-A8ZP76 for Lake Shore Gold Corp., a gold-bearing ore mining facility, located in the City of Timmins, Ontario.
The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that discharge to the air include hoppers, boilers, screeners, stackers, dust collectors, mine ventilation, and on-site trucks for ore handling and loading.
The amendment includes an increase in the daily maximum paste plant production rate to 2,325 cubic metres per day from the currently approved rate of 1,920 cubic metres per day.
The Emissions to the air from this facility include:
- nickel
- particulate matter
- nitrogen oxides
- manganese
- ferric oxide
- lead, and
- phosphorus
The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise). The Limited Operational Flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
