Proposal details

This proposal is to amend the Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 8-1009-83-006 for Suncor Energy Inc. and 1277136 Alberta Ltd. as general partners for and on behalf of Suncor Energy Products Partnership, a crude oil refinery located in the City of Sarnia, Ontario.

This application is for upgrades to the Flare Gas Recovery Unit (FGRU) System, including the addition of one FGRU. The sources at the facility include vent gas treatment systems, heaters, thermal oxidizers, flares, tanks, and boilers.

Contaminant emissions to the atmosphere include:

  • ethylene
  • hydrogen sulphide
  • isopentane
  • n-butane
  • n-hexane
  • propylene
  • noise.
