Proposal details

This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval for the establishment of seasonal subsurface sewage disposal works rated at 34,600 litres per day, to service a youth summer camp (Camp Davern) located at 3555 Bolingbroke Road, in the community of Maberly, Township of Tay Valley, Ontario.

The proposed works includes the replacement of the existing sewage system serving the washrooms, existing dining hall (to be converted to a recreation hall), and laundry building, and a new sewage system for the proposed dining hall.

The replacement sewage works have a rated capacity of 13,000 litres per day and includes two 22,000-litre single compartment pre-cast concrete septic tanks, a 7,500-litre pre-cast concrete pump tank, and a 14,000-litre pre-cast concrete pump tank. Effluent from the replaced works will be discharged into a proposed partially raised chamber leaching bed with 15 runs of 24 chambers (360 cambers total).

The new sewage works will have a rated capacity of 21,600 litres per day and include a 11,365-litre three-compartment pre-cast concrete grease interceptor, three 22,000-litre single compartment pre-cast septic tanks connected in series, and a 22,000-litre pre-cast pump tank. Effluent from the new works will be discharged into a proposed fully raised leaching chamber bed with two cells of 14 runs of 22 cambers (616 cambers total).

The Ministry may require effluent monitoring and may impose effluent limits.
