Effects of consultation

There was some support for the amendment, however municipalities and landowners;expressed concern with the proposed amendment. They were concerned about the mapping of the Niagara Escarpment's brow and toe, and that development on the Escarpment slope would be limited by the proposed amendment. There were also some objections to the proposed re-designation of some areas from Escarpment Recreation Area to Escarpment Protection and Natural Areas.

In total, 20 comments were received from agencies, stakeholder groups, and landowners.

No comments were received through the Environmental Registry.
