Original proposal
Proposal details
Description of instrument
This proposal is for an amended Environmental Compliance Approval for an existing private sewage treatment works serving Century Beach Trailer Park, a seasonal residential trailer park consisting of a total 97 trailer sites, located at 2057 Lakeshore Road, Rural Route No. 9, in the County of Haldimand, Ontario.
The existing sewage works (consisting of a series of septic tanks) are designed for a daily sewage flow rate of 18,000 litres per day. The amendment is to include an existing constructed wastewater treatment wetland, with an average daily wastewater flow of 7,300 litres/day, as an additional polishing step for discharging the treated effluent into a sub-surface disposal system is a French drain of about 15 metres in length.
There has been no surface discharge from the wetland since operations began in 2012 . The ministry may require monitoring of the wastewater effluent discharge leaving the site.
