Re: identify new opportunities for passengers to take bikes . Other routes can include Toronto to Ottawa through Peterborough along Hwy 7, Kingston to Ottawa and the east side of Georgian Bay.

Grey County appreciates the opportunity to comment  both deliver valuable services, on a limited budget,  that make up most of the 5 bullets under promoting Ontario as a premiere cycling destination.

I applaud the initiative of the MTO and MTCS to support cycling.  Obesity and sedentary lifestyles cause health issues and cycling is an easy way for Ontarians to keep active and at the same time, if using cycling for transportation, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Some additional reflections:

#1 Healthy, Safe Communities: provide a rebate for bikes, e-bikes as is done for e-cars.

Work to remove tariffs on cargo bikes.

#2 Improve Infrastructure: commit to annual investment at a minimum of $75million/yr.

Your primary question regarding likelihood that these policies will work to increase cycling in the province begs a cheap and effective counting system. Can I suggest that a community based transactional bike count would provide this while significantly boosting community awareness?

Thank-you for the opportunity to provide feedback  to purchase 1m radar detection units, which can detect the distance between a motor vehicle and a plain clothed police officer riding a bicycle. The unit has been deployed in Ottawa to educate road users about the law, and to issue tickets.

Thank you for the opportunity to comment  is the engagement of municipal staff responsible for economic development and tourism. Action Plan 2.0 should include a strategy targeted at this group to raise the profile of cycling tourism so that municipalities set it as a priority.

In your goal to design healthy, active, and prosperous communities, you mention support for Active and Safe Routes to School - this action should have more specific focus on School Travel Planning, which works with municipal leaders, staff, and citizens, to identify and remove barriers to active
