Transportation and rail planning needs to be inter jurisdictional. Urban sprawl and housing prices are pushing people further and further from their workplace. An over-arching strategic plan is necessary to ensure that these people are able to easily move between transit jurisdictions.
Page 81 of the report indicates there is a detailed Asset Inventory, organized by section, including: health, education, tourism and culture, governments general real-estate, transportation, transit, postsecondary education and natural resources and forestry; under the "Technical Appendix".
Ontario's infrastructure planning would benefit from a specific requirement that Municipalities and other provincial organizations adapt Asset Management practices as described in International Standard ISO 55001 and its companion standards ISO 55000 and 55002.
