I object to Bill 4, Cap and Trade Cancellation Act, 2018. It cancels a system that was effective in reducing Green House Gas emissions, and it is very vague about measures that might be implemented in the future to fulfil the same purpose. Read more

I'm a small high tech business owner and I'm appalled that you're cancelling Ontario's cap and trade without another climate plan. This will be costlier than having a plan first, and short sighted for the future of Ontario. How will our kids judge us in 20 years? Read more

There is absolutely no evidence to support cancelling cap and trade but there is plenty of evidence in its favor. We are at a critical point and the government is playing politics with all our lives. This should be the top priority of our government. I fully support cap and trade.

Using taxes is the most effective way of making sure carbon emissions are decreased. The latest news from those who actually know what they are talking about is that we only have a short time to act and the Nobel committee awarded prizes to academics who support using eg cap and trade. Read more

I am not supportive of the cancelling of this bill, especially as the public has not been advised what the current government's strategy is to deal with climate change. Climate change is real, it is affecting us now and to not have a concrete plan is irresponsible, to now and future generations. Read more

Climate change is happening. The science is real, and well-supported. There are stories in the news every day that highlight the effects of climate change - severe storms, flooding, melting ice caps. As I write this comment, we are experiencing record high October temperatures. Read more
