The moratorium on issuing water permits needs to be extended. In fact, it needs to be made permanent. Water is a precious resource which we ALL need. Stewarding it for Ontarians needs to a priority.
We should not be selling water as a commodity. Full stop. Yes, extend the moratorium! But water is so much more precious, and with the Harper governments lifting of some many protections, it is in danger of being something we will lose.

Water bottling hurts people and the planet. We do not need more single-use plastics in our world. Water is a precious resource and if this resource is to be taken, what is the environmental consequence? The current fee paid by water bottling companies is not high enough.

The moratorium should be made PERMANENT. There is no need for bottled water as public water supplies in Ontario are safe, and we pay taxes to support those public water resources.

I hope the Government will work toward an outright, permanent ban on this practice. Apart from wasting a valuable resource, plastic pollution is a very real issue.
I live in the Aberfoyle area and feel that the moratorium should stay put. I think you should look in to how much water is being used to clean rock from gravel pits as well because that is more of a waste than Nestle.
Totally against water being taken by water bottling companies. There’s talk about decisions being “science based”... we need more than that. We need common sense to prevail. Science? Who’s science?

I applaud the Government of Ontario’s proposal to extend the moratorium on new water bottling permits until January 2020 while the scientific groundwater reserve review continues. However I believe that the issue bears consideration on a number of levels, not just the specific groundwater reserves.

We need access to clean water. Our town is growing in leaps and bounds and if Nestle will drain it until it's dry. Please keep our clean water for residents.
