As a resident of Ontario this proposal really concerns me. It is a sweeping change to municipal planning that provides the opportunity for public consultation on new development to be eliminated. This is really un-Canadian.

I do not support this provision. It will compromise transparency and public engagement by permitting by-laws to be passed without any public notice behind closed doors. It will leave citizens without recourse.
I have significant concerns about the introduction of open-for-business by-laws, and think that they are a dangerous piece of legislation that seriously erodes the environmental protections associated with development in Ontario.
