The proposed change in direction to the Endangered Species Act seems to minimize protection of species and the habitat necessary for their survival in favour of industrial activity and "efficiency" of the process to obtain approvals for commercial interests. There is nothing more important than protecting the ecosystems that sustain us. They only thrive under conditions which favour growth and evolution. We currently are not in a place where we are putting our economy as well as our environment at an opportunity for evolution and growth. Read more

This proposal will put endangered species and their habitats even further at risk. I suspect that if the review goes forward, protections for endangered will be deregulated in favour of economic expansion. I do not support this initiative! Read more

It is good to review the ESA to ensure that it continues to do what is was initially set out to do, i.e. strengthen the protection of each and every species under its jurisdiction, from the Grizzled Moss to the Algonquin Wolf. Read more

I appreciate the opportunity to comment on the Endangered Species Act (ESA) review discussion paper. I am for more stringent protections for species at risk. However it is my opinion that the proposals being considered will not accomplish that goal. Read more
