Description of Instrument
Glencore Canada Corporation has submitted a Mine Closure Plan Amendment for filing by the Ministry of Energy, Northern Development and Mines as required under the Mining Act. The Closure Plan Amendment proposes rehabilitation measures to be implemented upon the eventual closure of Glencore Canada’s Kidd Mine Site.
The following are the major components of this Closure Plan Amendment as proposed by Glencore Canada Corporation:
- Address items in a March 2017 Mine Rehabilitation Inspection Report
- Incorporate Previous Notices of Material Change
- Supply un-aggregated costs for buildings and other mine features.
- Assess railway bed ballast owned by Kidd (Excludes Ontario Northland Railway)
- Rehabilitation plans for waste rock, buried pipelines, new mine features
- Supply as-built drawings/reports for caps on backfill raises No. 1,2,3
- Provide Updated Site Plan
- Supply Open Pit Rock Mechanics Study and Boulder Fence Location Report
- Update Surface Water Management and Treatment Methods
- Update Closure Costs and Financial Assurance
