It seems that Bill 108 is proposing a new revenue tool, "Community Benefit Charge" which has never been used before and isn't guaranteed to properly serve the community in terms of bringing in appropriate funds according to growth. Read more

Decisions about zoning should be made by residents of a community and municipal councillors and planners, and not by a Provincial Minister who answers to a majority or minority party at Queen's Park (regardless of which party that might be) which may have interests other than local ones at heart. I absolultely do not support the Bill 108 proposal to eliminate development charges (DCs) for “soft or social services”. This will drastically reduce the funding available to complete important projects that benefit new residents to our community, as well as those living here already. Read more
