Species at risk in Ontario
We develop a species-specific policy (government response statement) summarizing our intended actions and priorities on protection and recovery.
Within the time specified in the species’ government response statement (GRS), or not later than five years after the GRS is published if no time is specified, we review and report on the progress we’ve made.
Reviewing progress
The reports show that the province has made progress toward the protection and recovery of 16 of Ontario’s species at risk.
In these reports, you will see how we and our partners are helping to protect and recover species at risk, including:
- specific projects that support recovery;
- a review of species observations and trends; and,
- a summary of progress and actions towards meeting our recovery goal.
