On August 4, 2020 the ministry issued an exploration permit PR-20-000041 to Bounty Gold Corp., for early exploration located approximately 85 kilometres NW of Wabauskang First Nation, Ontario, in the Baird Township District of Kenora, North West Region.

The exploration permit was issued once all Indigenous communities and the public had the opportunity to provide comment or raise their concerns. The issued exploration permit is valid for a period of 3 years from the date of issue.

This permit will allow Bounty Gold Corp., to undertake these early exploration activities:

  • mechanized Drilling (Assembled Weight greater than 150 kilograms)
  • mechanized Stripping (greater than 100 squared metres in 200 metre radius)
  • pitting and Trenching of Bedrock (greater than 3 cubic metres in 200 metre radius)
  • line Cutting (greater than 1.5 metres width)

Proposal details

Bounty Gold Corp. has submitted an application on the claims listed below for an exploration permit as required under the Mining Act for the following early exploration activities:

  • mechanized drilling
  • mechanical stripping
  • pitting and trenching of bedrock
  • line cutting

This notice is provided to receive comments that can be considered in the decision-making process prior to the issuance of an exploration permit.

An Exploration Permit does not relieve the proponent from compliance with any other requirements that are set out under the Mining Act or any other Act. All activities included in the Exploration Permit proposal must be carried out in compliance with Ontario Regulation 308/12 and the Provincial Standards for Early Exploration. The Exploration Permit duration will be up to 3 years.
