Decision details
On March 29, 2022 the ministry issued an exploration permit near Manitouwadge to conduct early exploration activities.
This permit will allow the company to conduct the following:
- mechanized drilling (where the drill weight is greater than 150 kilograms)
- mechanized stripping (greater than 100 square metres in a 200 metres radius)
- pitting and trenching of bedrock (greater than 3 cubic metres in a 200-metre radius)
- line cutting (greater than 1.5 metres in width)
The exploration permit was issued once all Indigenous communities and the public had the opportunity to provide comment or raise their concerns. The issued exploration permit is valid for a period of three years from the date of issue.
Effects of consultation
No comment was received through the Environmental Registry of Ontario resulting in no impact on the decision to proceed or not with this proposal.

This notice is provided to receive comments that can be considered in the decision-making process prior to the issuance of an exploration permit.
An Exploration Permit does not relieve the proponent from compliance with any other requirements that are set out under the Mining Act or any other Act. All activities included in the Exploration Permit proposal must be carried out in compliance with Ontario Regulation 308/12 and the Provincial Standards for Early Exploration. The Exploration Permit duration will be up to 3 years.
