On April 28, 2020 the ministry issued an exploration permit near Sudbury, Ontario to undertake:
Plan Activities
- geophysical Survey Requiring Generator Type
Permit Activities
- mechanized Drilling (greater than 150 kilograms)
- mechanized Stripping (greater than 100 square metres in a 200 metres radius)
- pitting and Trenching of Bedrock (greater than 3 cubic metres in a 200 metre radius)
- line cutting (greater than 1.5 metres in width)
Non-Prescribed Activities
- ground Geophysical Surveys without a generator (GS)
- trails (TS)
- roads (RC)
- airborne Geophysical Survey (AA)
The exploration permit was issued once all Indigenous communities and the public had the opportunity to provide comment or raise their concerns. The issued exploration permit is valid for a period of 3 years from the date of issue.
Effects of consultation
No comments were received through the Environmental Registry of Ontario resulting in no impact on the decision whether or not to proceed with this proposal.

Pavey Ark Minerals Incorporated has submitted an application to the ministry as required under the Mining Act for prescribed early exploration activities
The activities that this permit would allow Pavey Ark Minerals Incorporated to carry out are as follows:

- Geophysical Survey Requiring Generator Type
Permit Activities
- mechanized Drilling (Assembled Weight greater than 150 kilograms)
- mechanized Stripping (greater than 100 metres squared in 200 metre radius)
- pitting and Trenching of Bedrock (greater than 3 metres cubed in 200 metre radius)
- line Cutting (greater than 1.5 metres width)
Non-Prescribed Activities
- ground Geophysical Surveys without a generator (GS)
- trails (TS)
- roads (RC)
- airborne Geophysical Survey (AA)
An Exploration Permit does not relieve the proponent from compliance with any other requirements that are set out under the Mining Act or any other Act. Further all activities included in the Exploration Permit proposal must be carried out in compliance with Ontario Regulation 308/12 and the Provincial Standards for Early Exploration.
The Exploration Permit duration will be up to 3 years with the possibility of one renewal for up to 3 years.
