Why consultation isn't required

On April 1, 2020, the Ontario Government made a temporary regulation to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak. Ontario Regulation 115/20 exempts all proposals for policies, acts, regulations and instruments from posting requirements under the EBR until 30 days after the declared emergency is terminated.

Proposal details

This application is for the approval of a new wastewater treatment facility and surface discharge system, located at 768 Highway 77 in the Municipality of Leamington, County of Essex, to service the employment population of an expanding vegetable greenhouse including accessory warehouse and office facilities, with staff residing on-site and off-site.

The proposed wastewater treatment facility is designed for a rated capacity of 60.0 cubic meters per day of domestic sewage generated by an employment population.

The wastewater treatment facility is designed to achieve tertiary effluent quality required for dry-ditch discharge to the Hooker Drain at Mersea Road 8, which watercourse is tributary to Lebo Creek within the Hillman Creek Watershed.

The ministry may require monitoring of the wastewater and stormwater effluent discharge leaving the site.
