Revocation of Minister’s Zoning Orders, Ontario Regulations 464/09, 465/09, and 466/09, by Revocation Order, Ontario Regulation 181/20.

The following Minister’s Zoning Orders (MZO) in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury (the Town) have been revoked:

• Ontario Regulation 464/09
• Ontario Regulation 465/09
• Ontario Regulation 466/09

The objective of these MZOs was to facilitate the creation of an employment area along Highway 400. The MZOs are no longer needed because they have been implemented through local zoning with the Town’s passing of Zoning By-law 2017-61 on July 11, 2017.

Section 47 of the Planning Act authorizes the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing to make MZOs in order to regulate land use on any land in Ontario. A MZO prevails over local zoning by-laws where there is a conflict.

The Minister is also authorized, under section 47 of the Planning Act, to amend or revoke the MZO at any time. Notice must be given prior to a decision being made regarding the revocation of a MZO, as required under section 47(9) of the Act.

A notice was posted in the Bradford West Gwillimbury Topic newspaper on Thursday, December 5, 2019 inviting feedback from the public for a period of 30 days. No comments from the public were received. Additionally, the Town and Simcoe County were invited to comment on the proposed revocation. The Town Council passed a resolution in support of the revocation. No submission was received from the County of Simcoe.
