Decision details

We have issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage) to 1804016 Ontario Inc., to serve the Sherwood Forest Subdivision, located in the City of North Bay. The approval is:

  • for the collection, transmission, treatment and disposal of stormwater runoff from a total catchment area of 8.34 hectares
  • to provide Normal Level water quality protection and erosion control
  • to attenuate post-development peak flows to pre-development peak flows for all storm events up to and including the 100-year storm event

The discharge is to a swale located south of the proposed dry pond and ultimately to Johnston Creek. consisting of storm sewers, sanitary sewers, dry pond for quantity control, oil and grit separator for quality control, and a conveyance swale, ultimately discharging to the Johnston Creek.

What is considered

The appeal body will consider the following two questions in deciding whether to grant you leave to appeal:

  1. is there is good reason to believe that no reasonable person, with respect to the relevant law and to any government policies developed to guide decisions of that kind, could have made the decision?
  2. could the decision you wish to appeal result in significant harm to the environment?

You’ll need to provide notice to the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks that you’re seeking leave to appeal.

  • decision that you wish to appeal
  • grounds for granting leave to appeal

Proposal details

This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (Sewage) to be issued to 1804016 Ontario Inc., for the establishment of sewage works, in support of the proposed Sherwood Forest Subdivision for the collection, transmission, treatment and disposal of stormwater run-off from a land legally described as part of Lot 17, Concession B, in the City of North Bay, District of Nipissing, Ontario.

The sewage works system will consist of storm sewers, ditches, and a dry pond for quantity control discharging into the Johnson Creek, within the Chippewa Creek Watershed. The new sanitary sewers will connect to and discharge into the existing system on Pearce Street.
