I have been following the cwd studies and my thought is there isn't enough reasons not to do this , the proposals sit well with me , this deadly disease must not get a foot hold in Ontario. any and all programs should be implemented .

Over the next 10 years eliminate farming of cervids in Ontario with some exceptions
Do not permit new Cervid farms to commence operations effective immediately
Prohibit people/businesses from moving live cervids from outside Ontario into Ontario with some exceptions
I see no details in the proposal about what the expansions are for hunters bringing in parts of cervids taken lawfully in another jurisdiction. It is ESSENTIAL that hunters be allowed to bring back not only meat but antlers and skull as as unit for their self taxidermy purpose.

Although I am not a deer hunter, I am an active small game hunter, fisherman and birder. I fully support this proposal. I applaud the government for taking these steps. I only wish it was stronger, had fewer exceptions and was implemented a long time ago.
