We want to inform you that the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing has received Official Plan Amendment 482 (OPA 482) from the City of Toronto for a decision. OPA 482 proposes to identify two Protected Major Transit Station Areas in accordance with subsection 16 (15) of the Planning Act.

OPA 482) and has forwarded OPA 482 to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing for a decision.

The purpose of OPA 482 is to identify two Protected Major Transit Station Areas in accordance with subsection 16 (15) of the Planning Act. These stations are: Finch West Transit Station and Sentinel Transit Station. The proposed OPA 482 would delineate the boundaries of these two Protected Major Transit Station Areas through Official Plan map schedules and bring forward policies required by subsection 16 (15) of the Planning Act, specifically:

  • the minimum number of residents and jobs, collectively, per hectare that are planned to be accommodated within the area;
  • the authorized uses of land in the area and of buildings or structures on lands in the area; and
  • the minimum densities that are authorized with respect to buildings and structures on lands in the area.

All comments received prior to the posting deadline will be considered as part of the decision-making process by the Ministry if they are submitted by mail or electronically through this Environmental Registry posting. If submitting comments by mail, please reference this posting's& ERO (Environmental Registry of Ontario) number: 019-3106.

Other Information

Pursuant to subsection 16 (18) of the Planning Act, the approval of the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing is required for official plan amendments that address any of the required policies for Protected Major Transit Station Areas.

Subsection 17 (36.1.4) of the Planning Act sets out that there is no appeal of specific policies related to Protected Major Transit Areas. See the Planning Act for more details.
