First, the most important thing to do to protect and increase the Greenbelt is to abolish MZOs. Nothing, no order from any minister, should be able to override the existing protections, which were thoughtfully put in place, with consultation with environmental experts. Read more

Preserving our green spaces and expanding our green belt is incredibly important. I’m a young professional, with a young family. I understand the economic pressure for development but we can’t sacrifice the natural environment and spaces that we can’t get back for economic gain.

Please build rugged hiking and natural biking trails through greenspace so people can actually enjoy it. If greenspace is left unused it's not appreciated. Outdoor recreation has exploded in ontario and we need more places to hike, mountain bike and bike on gravel/dirt paths. Read more

Although the government has indicated it is supportive of expanding the Greenbelt many citizens of Ontario are skeptical of its true commitment. Much talk recently has concerned the possibility of incorporating the Paris Galt Moraine into the Greenbelt. Read more

I support including Simcoe County and the remainder of the Lake Simcoe shoreline into an expanded Greenbelt. Our shorelines, forests, wetlands and moraines make Simcoe County a prime candidate to ensure large swath’s of Ontario’s natural heritage, farmland and water are protected. Read more
