Decision details

A change to the site plan of Aggregate Resources Act (ARA) Licence No. 624852 was approved by the Regional Director on June 15, 2021.

The site plan was amended to allow the following:

  • stockpiles up to 12 metres in height
  • additional berms to be constructed around the perimeter of the site 

The additional berms are to be seven metres high on the west and south sides of the licensed site to connect the existing berms and provide additional noise attenuation to residences located to the west of the site. On the north side of the licensed site, the existing berm will be extended and increased to a height of five metres. The berms will remain on site following final rehabilitation of the licensed site.

No comments were received in response to the Environmental Registry notice. One comment was received as a result of the Aggregate Resources Act consultation process. Questions were raised regarding the height of the proposed berms. The applicant was able to provide additional information to address the questions raised.

Proposal details

Application has been made by J.C. Rock Ltd. to amend the current site plan to allow the following on the licensed site:

  • stock piles up to 12 metres in height
