This is an irresponsible proposal. The last thing the Ontario government should do is remove renewable energy requirements from our electricity system.
I suggest power generation should be designated an essential service for the citizens of Ontario. Purchases of power not just construction of future sources should be priorized by the same criterion of Price, Reliability, Quality of Service as below.

It's ridiculous that Ontario has been supporting foreign owned wind companies with tax payer supported subsidies only to have US border states advertise for our industry to move there because we dump unneeded energy below our cost of production.
