It’s time for a paradigm shift. Money over environmental issues, corporate greed trumps healthy ecosystems. Global warming causing havoc on our coastlines, loss of ecosystems and species, increased fires, record temperatures — cutting trees down for pellets— sad commentary on your government.

Please stop expanding the wood pellet industry. This is not a sustainable energy solution, you would be aggravating the effects of climate change. Wood pellets are dirtier than coal at the smokestack and increasing deforestation as a climate solution is not viable.

A decision to burn more wood pellets means burning more trees for electricity – producing a fuel that’s even dirtier at the smokestack than coal. I do not support this decision. We need to protect the resources we have left and trees are a very powerful weapon in fighting climatehange

Protecting our forests needs to be a top priority. We need to be exploring more sustainable heating solutions and leaving more wild spaces left untouched. If we continue to cut down trees at this rate, Canada will be a barren wasteland, and no amount of money is worth that.
